Today I went to a wedding shower and was picking at my plain rice (the buffet main dishes were meat and the veggies drowned in butter) and one of the waitresses came over and said the chef offered to make you something if you’d like! I was a little flustered because I often don’t have many options but I accepted and thanked her profusely. She arrived back a short time later with a lovely plate with two grilled portabella mushrooms topped with a medley of chopped and grilled vegetables and drizzled with a balsamic reduction. She told me exactly what was in everything (I didn’t have to ask!) and assured me there was not one drop of butter in it. It was amazing!! So yummy, and all this from her overhearing my sister making a comment in the buffet line about how there wasn’t much I could eat. There’s good people hiding everywhere!
